347: Andy's Recumbent Xtracycle

"We keep this bike in Germany and so far it has carried 30 kilograms all day every day on two trips. The first trip was ten days, covering 412 miles from Nuremburg, Germany to Vienna, Austria and the second trip was 15 days, covering 550 miles from Nuremburg, Germany to and around the Bodensee in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It is a Lightning P-38 with a FreeRadical and Wideloaders and has worked great. Be sure and keep the load as far forward on the Wideloaders and as the heavy weights as low as possible due to the low center of gravity of this bike."

  1. So does the low center of gravity make the bike less stable when loaded than an upright (typical) xtracycle?
