472: Rob's Xtracycle

Taking my kids to ride at the playground. leisurely 10 mile roundtrip on the bike path by the river. 100+ lbs of kids & stuff hauled by me and the X. A double kid seat Snapdeck is in the works for the summer. I love my X! And my boys, of course. :)

471: Bob's Black Big Dummy (BBBD)

I bought my BD in Oct'09 and have slowly been incorporating it in my life to replace car trips when and where ever possible. I also use it to take 2 of my 3 kids for rides--last Thanksgiving, I took my 2 daughters to my sister's house instead of driving there (~4 miles one way). They love the bike and its name!

Many thanks to Dave of Cycle City in Alameda, CA, for great tips and advice on the BD. After talking with Dave and the nice folks at Cycle City, I know I'll be investing soon in a set of wideloaders and whatchamacollars.

469: Aussie Xtracycle

Here is my Aussie xtracycle. It is one of maybe two in Perth, Western Australia. It is bolted to a Giant STP2 - though I have since changed out the forks to some rigid Salsa steel forks, and added a Brooks saddle. A drivetrain upgrade is also in the wings - at the moment am running Acera but it doesn't seem to deal with gear changes very well. I'm looking at going to 9 speed and going to SRAM X9.
